I’ve been missing my muse lately. For longer, I’ve been longing for a more rough around the edges version of me. I remember a wild I used to wear naturally. She is still here, but she is all grown up. She has serious thoughts about life and what we are doing here, but she remembers something about who she was before. I find eleven year old me specifically haunting/inspiring. She is wearing one of her dad’s old flannel shirts, she is wearing black lipstick. She gets in trouble for writing the lyrics of songs about the moon on her desk. She is so raw and emotional, always seeking adventure and intrigue, always yearning for a mirror, longing for her strangeness to feel right somewhere out there.

I think I needed to go inside for a long time for the strangeness to feel right in here. After a decade of being in an in between place of healing, wild and true me is ready to remerge, to be seen and shared. And this time we are in beckons her to do it on her own terms. We have so much to share, to create, to ponder. We are nostalgic for a time when we had more power in creating, a time outside of algorithms. I was coming of age in the 90’s and I remember how to do this life thing without social media from little scrappy seeds and zines. So I am starting where I am. Still wild & scrappy, but wiser and discerning. I am sharing my little creative, weird, magical world with you, here at autonomousmuse.com.

Musings is an invitation to engage your inner world. It’s a space to connect with the human experience, a place to dream and remember. It’s an invitation for rewilding. A place to seek solace for your weird self, to feel inspired. An opportunity to embrace curiosity at the edges of being. A place for the inner rebellious and true 11 year old to do things on her own terms. This is for her. It a queer space, a weird space, an adhd space (there will be typos), a highly sensitive space, a femme space, a wild space.

You can drop in whenever you like. I will link Musings to my monthly energy message in Substack or you can subscribe to Musings directly for updates (below).
